Maglificio Giordano’s was founded in 1948, when Eleonora Lavina Dal Mas started a business destined to develop over time through the contribution of subsequent generations. Since then, the company has accompanied the evolution of the Italian textile and knitwear sector, maintaining a strong focus on the quality of workmanship.
The company is led by Angelo, Luisa and Rosanna Dal Mas, who continue the company path with the aim of combining consolidated skills and production innovation.
One of the aspects highlighted by the project is the role of manufacturing as a wealth of knowledge and skills. In the case of knitwear, the quality of the product comes from the integration of technical experience, attention to details and the ability to interpret the needs of a constantly evolving market.
In fact, the creation of a garment requires a succession of production phases in which advanced technologies and manual interventions contribute to the final result in a complementary way.
The article also highlights how many Italian manufacturing companies have faced technological transformation without sacrificing the skills that characterize craftsmanship.
Even in the knitwear sector, innovation represents a tool to improve precision, efficiency and quality control, while keeping the contribution of people and their skills central.
Particular attention is paid to the relationship with the territory and to professional training. The collaboration with schools, universities and specialized institutes contributes to the dissemination of technical skills that represent an important resource for the future of Made in Italy.
The continuity of this knowledge is in fact one of the most relevant issues for the manufacturing sector, called upon to encourage generational turnover and the enhancement of professionalism.
The inclusion in the “Journey in the Factories of Beauty” project offers an opportunity to reflect on the role of manufacturing companies in the preservation and evolution of Italian production skills.
Through the story of companies belonging to different sectors, the initiative highlights how tradition, innovation and training can contribute to keeping a culture of doing alive, that continues to represent one of the distinctive elements of the Italian production system.
The collaboration between Maglificio Giordano’s and the international designer Martino Gamper represents a dialogue between Italian manufacturing, creative experimentation and textile research. The project, developed as part of Architectural Digest Italia’s “AD Fatto a Mano”, was born with the aim of exploring new expressive possibilities through knitwear, transforming an everyday accessory into a contemporary design object.
Maglificio Giordano’s has also proudly taken part in the second edition of the project “EcoStyle and Green Food. Every action counts!”, an educational path involving more than 600 second grade students of the region to learn more about the impact of plastics in fashion and food industries.
